The abandonment and investment plan.

After 20 years all that remains from the hotel are the walls and some rusted irons. Looking at the empty rooms, one can hardly imagine that people enjoying their holidays were once accommodated there. The common and auxiliary areas (such as the restaurant, the kitchen, etc.) are more reminiscent of the setting of a thriller movie. The exteriors couldn't be more different.
The beach bars next to the beach are full every day and receive people cooling off in the wonderful blue waters or having fun to the sounds of loud music. Two opposed images that evoke a variety of comments and emotions.

In 2008, the Xenia hotel in Paliouri was declared a preserved monument of modern architecture by the Ministry of Culture, and the optimism that it will come back to life returned when in the fall of 2013 the property was acquired by Ivan Savvidis' company.
In particular, he paid 14 million euros in order to get the use for 99 years of an area of 320 acres in a TAIPED (government asset development fund) competition. The investor's plan includes the restoration of the hotel, the operation of a health resort, the creation of luxury holiday homes, and a marina.
In total, it is estimated that the investment will reach 80 million euros, however plans have been frozen since legal issues regarding the forest area have arisen.
